A coincedence

I decided to do a colour challenge In Mystical Scrapbooking which involved red, cream and black. As soon as I saw it I knew exactly what to do.

The background paper I used with the lettering and pencils is because my Dad was an architect and also loved to read. The paper flower because he loved gardening and very much appreciated flowers. The music was because he played classical music. The photo shows me sitting on my dads lap.
He passed away a few years ago from cancer. Such a shock. He had chronic heart failure which was being managed. But he was admitted into hospital and I was told he had one week to live. I was beyond all emotion. My mum had already died when I was about 7. So this layout has been theraputic with a lot of tears.

Getting back to the coincidence. I had done a layout of my mum which I was not thinking about until after I had finished my Dads.

I used the flower from the same paper.

Got to think how to display them together.

Been Tagged

I have been tagged twice. By Lisa and Jodi I think I have been tagged with this one before. So not sure if I will pass it along wait and see.

Heres the rules
1. Once you are tagged, link back to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the RULES on your blog.
3. Post 7 weird or random facts about yourself on your blog.
4. Tag 7 people and link to them.
5. Comment on their blog to let them know they have been tagged.

Wierd and Random facts

1. I have done a BA in legal studies including criminology even though I was told by teachers I was stupid and I didn't finish school. I did quite well too.

2. One of my dreams is to have a farmlet. Don't know how I will go considering I'm quite a city girl. I just want to have a horse :)

3. I'm not scared of bugs so much but I am scared too squash them. I won't go into why. A bit gross.

4. I was born two month prem. My Dad said I was so tiny I could fit into a small shoe box.

5. I have a faith in God (Christianity) but I struggle because of painful things that have occurred in my life.

6. Never in my dreams would I have thought myself as a crafty or artistic person a few years ago. But I have dreamed secretly of being an artist or a beautiful pianist. I can play piano but not disciplined enough to practice the required amount to be really good. My had Dad practiced about 6 hours a day.

7. A sad random fact. I miss so much the family members and angels that have passed that are now in heaven.

Been Painting

Thought I should update on things.

I have been inspired to be a bit more domestic. I have been cooking :) Also we painted a wall on my daughters wall. I started and my husband finished. Well he did most of it. I should take a picture but I haven't yet. I will wait until her bed is set up.

I received some Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks. I have really no ideas what to do with them. I put splots over some card for atc's. Looks alright but quite smelly. Now I know how to clear out my sinus. :)
If I finish the cards I will post them.

I have finished two layout for Designs In Digital. I am still part of their hybrid creative team even though there is now a new owner. Here are the two kits I used.

Positive new for the ATC group

So many groups have been opening. So positive about how many people love their art and want to keep in going.

I have joined a flickr group and there is going to be a new forum which isn't the old onebut a brand new one. Here it is. ATC's for all. Ther are also some Yahoo groups which s great to connect but I find then so overwhelming with all the posts. I think all the swaps I was involved with are still continuing.

ON the Scrapbook front. I have completed a layout for Enchanted Scrapbooking. Its not on the page yet but I will still put it up here :) I have been behind on my commitments this month. Been quite hard to keep up with everything.

Today was going to plan to meet some girls. But my husband has gone out. My daughter accidently kicked me in the back last night resulting in shooting pain. Feeling alright this morning. Thanks to medication.

Also I have found a great website and blog. I h ad ordered stamps and still waiting for them to come in. I can't wait. Here they are. The ones at the bottom. Crow About. Also every month there is a crusade

Thinking about doing the next crusade. Anyone can join in. the details are on the site.

I hope you are all having a nice weekend.

Quite sad and a bit annoyed

I joined a fantastic group about 6 months ago called atcards. They are a fantastic bunch. Even though I had only done a limited amount of trading cards plenty were willing to do swaps with me. I was so encouraged. Now it is shutting down. At first it was in a months time but it has basically shut down now. So I don't know what is going to happen with all the swaps and the people who have been away for a few days :(

There are other groups. So hopefully we will be able to come together.

Biopsy results finally

I finally went to my follow up appointment for my thyroid. I had missed my last one because of my back. Everything seems to come all at once. So annoying. But my back is getting a lot better with adjustments by my chiropractor and ultrasound treatment.

Well I have to get my thyroid taken out at least my right side. Probably within the next 6 months. I'm so glad it wasn't an emergency. I'm thankful that I did go to my appointment. There is a bit of urgency with the surgery.

Other things:

Just finished my monthly mojo challenge for Feb at Scraptastic South West. Took so long in doing it. I was very fussy with myself. The theme was favorite part of your day. At the moment mine is the morning but could easily change to evening:) The picture on the layout isn't actually from our yard but elsewhere. It just reminds me of the perfect morning. Looking out the window and seeing beautiful birds feeding.

What happens when you hibernate.

For the last two years I have had a lot of physically and emotional difficult things happen. As a result I have retreated from my social world quite a lot. Now with my back pain just a bit more.

There is another price to pay. Lonliness. Feel like I have lost so many friends. More because they may feel they have to leave me alone. The ones in real life.

Don't know why I am typing this on here. Don't want to get too personal in a public place.

I would love to see some messages of those who read my blog and like my the pics I put up.

Little Birdies

Just finished some atc's for a swap in the atc forum. Took me ages to do them. I think I do need a change so I have joined a dark and gothic swap. It will be interesting to do. I have already found some skeleton ephemera for them :)

Here are my 'For the birds' cards.

A few days a go I decided to do a layout just for me. I did some digital and paper scrapping on the one layout. Had so much fun. I haven't put many layouts in for published so I thought I would give it a shot. I got accepted for the first time in Scrapbooking Memories.
So quite happy.

Health wise I am still sore. I was getting a bit better until I had to carry my daughter for a bit. I went to the Chiro today so I hope to improve soon.

A fantastic challenge

At Scraptastic South West

there is a great challenge A-Z in 26 Fortnights. Here is my layout for 'C' I chose the word curious. Be in it to win a $20.00 voucher. Apart from that I am really enjoying it. This layout is Ella getting to know George our cat who is very gentle. They are such good friends.

News about me. I had an MRI which I hope will tell me more about why I am experiencing so much pain in my leg. So I am hoping for news that isn't awful.
