paint

Not a hour goes past with out Ella asking me if she can paint or draw. While this is wonderful. She is using up my paint more than I am :) I hope my Dads talent for drawing has passed down to her. He was so talented. He would draw or play piano constantly. I think he started piano when he was 4 and drew as soon as he could pick up a pencil.

I thought I would share some pictures of what Ella did while my back was turned.

I didn't realise that she was going to start to try and eat the paint.

Hopefully I will scrap these soon :)

The beautiful sound of rain

I read quite a few blogs from around the world. Quite a few of the writers are so happy about the new sunshine of spring. Me. I'm happy about our beautiful rain falling. We need it so much. I wish it would rain all week and replenish our water supply. The only bad side is I like to stay indoors and nothing will get done. My husband who works outside as a rigger won't get as much work done. Wouldn't it be wonderful if it could just rain at night and early morning and have nice sunshine in the day.

I have just finished 22 Artist trading cards for a swap at Blue Bazaar. I was quite late in finishing them. Feel quite bad about it. But I'm not the last one. Also half way two layouts. I need to get out my camera more and take photos. Random ones. Then do some writing about them. Just for me so I won't forget. I have such a bad memory. Another reason why I started to scrap book.

I need to get motivated.

How slack I have been

I have been a lazy blogger and also a lazy scrapper this last week. I have nice photos but haven't downloaded them off my camera. I am a person that gets bored easily. I am wondering if I am getting bored with blogging. All my life I have wanted to journal I make a start but never continue with it.

I have actually started three art journals but haven't gone past the first page. I know it will be good for me to express myself. Its so hard to just break through. After Ella was born I had some brief art therapy with some crayons and paints and I loved it. I loved talking to the girl who brought the paints and just doing whatever I wanted without any judgement. I think I am afraid of being judged. Being told it isn't good enough. Because an art journal is so personal its painful. I know I don't have to show it to the world. But really I am my worst judge. I am very criticl of myself to the point I can't continue in what I am doing.

This entry probably won't make sense to anybody. But it doesn't matter.

My Inspiration is right in front of me

I have made a start on the second week of my Softly Spoken class.

While I was painting I gave Ella a pizza box and kept giving her colours.

This is my first two sheets I have done for the second week. there is plenty more to do. I know whose work I prefer right now.

Also on the weekend Amie and Forever Always did a challenge to scrap whats on your desk. Well I did have a few random things such as business cards, a stamped image, rolodex card, a photo.

Here it is.

Brenda

Responding to your comment.

Have no idea what those little boxes are?

Also the layout of Ethan is 6 x 12 looks a bit skinnier than usual :)

More to Share again :)

Here are two layouts for Scraptastic South West.

I really loved the first one. Ella loves her doll house toys. She rarely plays with the the actual house. She used to get the little chairs and sit on them. She broke about three before she realised it wouldn't work. I wish I got the photo :)

Now its Dora and Snipers turn. I used some embellishments from QTea which I have had for a while. Love those kits.

The layout is meant to be based on this sketch.

Has turned out nothing like it really.

Here is a layout from the A - Z challenge at Scraptastic South West. The letter E.

I really want to do more layouts of Ethan.

Fun with Gesso

Here is my layout from Scraptastic South West. Really love these products. They also have a big sale on right now too. I really like the 6 x 12 inch size too.

I have been putting Gesso on my watercolour paper. I wish I had used it before in journalling. It has a great feel to it. A bit on the stinky side though. I can't wait to show you my finished product. The course runs for 6 weeks so it will be in a while.

Getting into Challenges again

I decided to take on the Forever Always Cybercrop challenges. I didn't get the time to do any at Mystical Scrapbooking :(

Here are my layouts.

This layout did not turn out at all how I wanted. I just wanted a hint of color on the closeup of my eyes but an accident with the ink caused it to change. Still don't know what to think.

We went to the Mt Dandenong Ranges yesterday. It was the first time we had an outing together as a family for quite a while. The challenge was to use 5 buttons, 4 pieces of chipboard, 3 brads 2 rubons and 1 flower. I have used a few more in some items :)

Ella planting her first plant :)

Other news. I am starting a on line course. I am doing the Softly Spoken Class with Karyn Gartel

I can't wait until it starts.
